Mosaic Returns This Weekend With 19 Pavilions and a Whole World to Explore
It's the weekend a lot of us look forward to all year. Mosaic, A Festival of Cultures, runs Thursday through Saturday, June 4 to 6, and 2026 marks the festival's 56th year as the longest-running multicultural celebration in Saskatchewan. This year's edition expands to 19 pavilions, up from 15 last year, including a brand-new Persian pavilion and the return of the Bangladesh pavilion after more than a decade away.
Your passport is the key to everything: $15 for adults, $10 for youth and seniors, and free for kids under 10 with an adult. It gets you unlimited pavilion visits plus free rides on the special Mosaic shuttle and regular Regina Transit buses serving the festival. Pavilions run Friday from 5 p.m. to midnight and Saturday from 2 p.m. to midnight, so there's plenty of time to taste, watch and learn your way across the city. As organizers point out, these pavilions are run entirely by volunteers and serve as a major fundraiser for the communities behind them, so every visit counts.

Cathedral Village Arts Festival Wraps Its 35th Year as a "Wild Success"
The numbers are still being tallied, but the verdict is already in: the 2026 Cathedral Village Arts Festival was one for the history books. Organizers say the festival's milestone 35th anniversary surpassed even last year's record-breaking attendance of 50,000 people across the week, with packed performance venues, a larger street fair and crowds filling parks, galleries and sidewalks all along 13th Avenue.
A big part of this year's story was a new partnership with the Sâkêwêwak First Nations Artists' Collective, which brought Indigenous vendors, performers and cultural programming to the heart of the celebration, including the festival's first-ever Indigenous-focused performance stage. And here's the part that keeps it special after 35 years: every concert and performance stays free to attend. Well done Regina! :)

Riders Roll Out Two New Pre-Game Fan Zones Ahead of the Home Opener
The defending Grey Cup champions are giving fans even more reason to get to Mosaic Stadium early. Ahead of the June 13 home opener against the B.C. Lions, the club has announced two new pre-game experiences: Security Building Supplies Riderland Park and the Coors Light Tailgate, both debuting on opening night.
Riderland Park transforms Confederation Park into a free, family-focused destination with live music, inflatables, face painting, photo ops, autograph signings and games like dodgeball and cornhole. The Coors Light Tailgate, located south of the Brandt Centre and open to everyone on foot, brings the full tailgate atmosphere, grilled hot dogs and all, alongside an adjacent beer garden. And since it's the 2025 Championship Celebration, fans will get one more chance for a photo with the Grey Cup before the banner is raised. As club president and CEO Craig Reynolds put it, it's all about making game day even more memorable.

Summer's Almost Here: Regina's Outdoor Pools Open Next Week
If this weekend's weather has you dreaming of a dip, you won't have to wait long. The City of Regina says Wascana Pool opens Tuesday, June 9, with Buffalo Meadows, Maple Leaf, Massey and Regent pools following on Thursday, June 11 (dates subject to cooperative weather).
There's lots to look forward to this season. Returning programs include the $4 family swim, the Toonie Teen Swim for ages 13 to 18, dedicated preschool times and swimming lessons for all ages. Admission to Buffalo Meadows and Maple Leaf pools is free all summer long. And if the pools are busy, the city's spray pads are already open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wascana Pool will also bring back its popular late-night and themed swims later in the summer, so keep an eye on the calendar.

CBC's The Debaters Bring 20 Years of Laughs to Regina This Month
Mark your calendar, comedy fans: CBC Radio's beloved show The Debaters is coming to the Regina Performing Arts Centre on June 16 at 7:00 p.m., part of a cross-country run celebrating the program's 20th season on air. Hosted by Steve Patterson, a two-time winner of Canada's Best Male Stand-Up, the show pits comedians against each other in a battle of laughs and logic.
If you've never caught it live, the format is a blast: part stand-up, part quiz show, part comedy competition, with the studio audience picking the winners. This performance will be recorded for later broadcast on CBC Radio, so you can be part of the show and hear yourself in the crowd later. Tickets are available through the Regina Performing Arts Centre, and with two decades of material behind them, this one's bound to be a great night out.
