Regina Legion Digitizes 2,000+ Photos and Letters to Mark 100 Years
As the Royal Canadian Legion marks its 100th anniversary, Regina's Branch 001 has launched a new online archive with more than 2,000 historical photographs, letters and documents chronicling Saskatchewan's military history, now searchable on MemorySask. The museum's full collection tops 5,000 artifacts dating back to 1885.
"Our goal is to make our military history accessible and help people discover their own family members among the faces in the collection," said Kelsey Lonie, the museum's collections manager. Anyone who recognizes a face in the digitized photos is asked to email [email protected]. The museum, at 1820 Cornwall Street, is open free to the public Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 2 PM.
