Your friendly, positive roundup of what’s happening in Regina
Happy Friday, Regina!
We have officially made it to the end of January! Give yourselves a pat on the back for surviving the first month of winter. The days are getting noticeably longer, and while the temperature is still very much "Saskatchewan," seeing the sun stick around past 5 p.m. feels like a small victory.
This weekend is a great time to explore some indoor gems you might have overlooked, catch some live music, or just enjoy a slow morning with a local coffee. February is knocking on the door, bringing with it a whole new lineup of festivals and fun, but for now, let’s enjoy the weekend ahead.

Music to Your Ears: RSO’s Winter Season
If you haven't checked out the Regina Symphony Orchestra lately, you are missing out on one of the city's cultural pillars. As we head into February, the RSO is preparing a series of concerts that range from classical masterworks to pop-inspired evenings. It’s a fantastic excuse to dress up a little and enjoy a night out at the Conexus Arts Centre or Government House.
Step Back in Time at Government House
Looking for a free, warm, and interesting weekend activity? Government House is open for tours. It’s easy to forget we have a National Historic Site right on Dewdney Avenue. You can explore the museum, the Edwardian gardens (beautiful even in winter), and the art collection. It’s a quiet, educational gem perfect for a Saturday afternoon.
Darke Hall’s Vibrant Stage
Darke Hall has quickly become one of the premier spots for live performance in the city since its restoration. Their upcoming calendar is packed with a mix of local talent and touring acts. The acoustics are incredible, and the venue itself is stunning. If you haven't seen a show here yet, take a look at their listings for early February—tickets go fast.
Celebrating SK Athletes
If you have sports fans in the family, the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame is a great spot to kill an hour or two. Located downtown, it celebrates the province's rich sporting history with exhibits on our greatest athletes and teams. It’s an inspiring walk-through that reminds us just how much talent comes out of the prairies.
Be a Tourist in Your Own Town
Tourism Regina is encouraging locals to embrace the "staycation" mindset this season. We often wait for visitors to explore our own city, but there’s no need to wait. From the RCMP Heritage Centre to the Legislative Building, there are plenty of landmarks to revisit with fresh eyes this weekend.

Craft Brews in the Warehouse District
The Regina Warehouse District is the heartbeat of the city's craft brewing scene. If you’re looking to unwind after the work week, head over to Dewdney or the surrounding blocks. The historic brick buildings host some of the best taprooms in the province.
Try this: Grab a flight of local ales or a non-alcoholic craft soda and pair it with a pizza or pretzels from a local taproom.
