Your friendly, positive roundup of what’s happening in Regina

Happy Friday, Regina. ☁️
If you’ve been waiting for a weekend that feels a little less “deep-freeze survival” and a little more “let’s actually do things,” this is your sign. We’re in that classic Prairie sweet spot where you can be outside for a bit (with the right layers), then immediately reward yourself with something warm, loud, or delicious indoors.

Also: it’s a big February for “plans people.” Between FROST weekends, live shows, and a lot of hockey, your calendar can get busy fast so today’s issue is built to be your easy one-stop scroll.

In today’s edition

  • 📰 FROST is here (and ready for weirdly warm Feb vibes)

  • 🧺 The Farmers’ Market has a downtown update for 2026

  • 🏀 Luther Invitational Basketball Tournament tips off

  • 🚀 Regina students pitch big ideas at Elevate XP

  • 🎭 Your full “the rest of February” events list grouped by venue

🌤️ Weather / “How to live your life” forecast

Today (Fri): cooler + breezy later. Weekend: trending milder (yes, in February).
How to use it:

  • Do your outdoor stuff before the afternoon wind (dog walk, quick rink lap, errands).

  • Keep a “car blanket + mitts” combo within arm’s reach. Future You will be smug.

  • If you’re going to FROST: dress for wind, not just the number on your app.

FROST is officially on and organizers say they’re ready for warm-ish February

FROST Regina kicks off across multiple weekends and venues, with organizers noting they can adapt if winter decides to get… inconsistent. Expect a mix of indoor + outdoor programming and lots of “pick your own adventure” events across the city. This is one of the easiest ways to make February feel fun without needing a big trip or big budget.

Regina Farmers’ Market: downtown is back in the plan for 2026

The Farmers’ Market is returning to a downtown location for the 2026 season, with Pat Fiacco Plaza mentioned for Saturday outdoor markets. More foot traffic downtown = more “I’ll just grab one thing” spending that turns into a whole nice morning.

Luther Invitational Basketball Tournament is underway

The Luther Invitational Basketball Tournament (LIT) is set to begin in Regina, bringing teams together for the long-running tournament weekend. A very Regina kind of winter tradition and a great “get out of the house” spectator plan.

Elevate XP puts young entrepreneurs in front of investors (and real dollars)

CTV reports Elevate XP brought together high school students, investors, and fundraising with students pitching ideas and money raised for participants. This is what a healthy local “future economy” pipeline looks like confidence + community support.

Call-out for an Indigenous Artist in Residence is open

SaskToday notes an Indigenous Artist in Residence opportunity is open, with a later exhibition planned for works created through the program. It’s a tangible way local arts ecosystems grow. Paid opportunities now, public culture later.

☕ Support local: Make a February “market habit”

If your winter routine needs a refresh, here’s a simple one: build a Saturday market stop into your month.

Between the indoor market days at REAL District (see events list below) and the downtown season update CJME shared, it’s a good year to be a “just browsing” market person who accidentally goes home with bread, perogies, and a plant.

Your move: Pick one market date, invite one friend, and commit to buying one thing from a vendor you’ve never tried.

Quick tips

  • If you’re going to FROST or a Pats game: plan for parking + layers + a warm drink stop after.

  • February is stacked with shows. If you’ve been meaning to “do culture,” this is your month.

That’s your February runway. If you know someone who’s always asking “what’s happening this weekend?” forward this to them and become their favorite person. 💛
