🌾 Canada's Farm Show Wraps Up Its 2026 Run

Canada's Farm Show wrapped up its March 17 to 19 run at REAL District this week, bringing producers, ag businesses, suppliers, and industry leaders to Regina just ahead of seeding season. Organizers describe it as one of North America's most influential agricultural events, and this year's schedule backed that up with a full slate of programming built around innovation, education, and collaboration.

The Launch Pad stage was one of the main hubs of activity throughout the show. Confirmed features included the Thank You Farmers! Breakfast, a Rooted & Rising spotlight tied to the United Nations-declared International Year of the Woman Farmer, the Saskatchewan Outstanding Young Farmers Awards Luncheon, and a Saskatchewan Roughriders Championship Celebration featuring Trevor Harris and the Grey Cup. That is more than enough to call this another big week for Regina's role in Canadian agriculture.

🏒 Fawcett Hits 30, Pats Play Final Home Game Tonight

It has been a season of milestones, and Keets Fawcett added another one on Tuesday night in Prince Albert. In Regina's 8-4 loss to the Raiders, Fawcett scored his 30th goal of the season, giving him his first 30-goal campaign in the WHL. It was one bright spot in a tough result, but it is still a milestone worth pausing on.

After that game, the Pats sat at 25-32-7-2 with two games remaining in the regular season. The next one is tonight at the Brandt Centre, where Regina hosts the Brandon Wheat Kings at 7:00 PM in its final home game of the year. The following night, the Pats finish the regular season in Brandon. If you want a proper late-season hockey atmosphere in Regina, tonight is the night for it.

🚔 Jail 'n' Bail Is Back at Cornwall Centre

Jail 'n' Bail returned this week, with the fundraiser running today, Thursday March 19, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Cornwall Centre. Notable Regina citizens are being "arrested" and held in a mock jail in centre court until they raise their bail money from passersby and donors. The funds raised go directly to Regina Crime Stoppers, making it one of those community events that manages to be funny, public, and genuinely useful at the same time. Very Regina, in the best way.

💰 2026 Budget Highlights

The province's 2026-27 budget includes real tax relief, though how much households feel it will depend on their specific situation. The government says its latest tax measures, combined with indexation, will deliver about $200 million in province-wide tax savings this year. A family of four pays no provincial income tax on its first $65,000 of combined income, and the personal, spousal, equivalent-to-spouse, and child tax exemptions will each rise by an additional $500 this year. The Saskatchewan Low-Income Tax Credit is also going up by five per cent on top of annual indexation. No new taxes, and a few meaningful credits getting a bump. Worth knowing what applies to your household.
