QUEEN CITY DIGEST — Friday, Jan 2, 2026
Your friendly, positive roundup of what’s happening in Regina this week.
Happy first Friday of 2026, Regina. If today’s weather made you consider becoming a full-time indoor plant… relatable. The upside: winter activities are officially on (rinks, drop-in skates, little city challenges), and there are enough easy, cozy outings this weekend to make January feel slightly less January.
In today’s edition
🚗 The one parking rule that’ll cost you $120 if you ignore it (snow routes)
⛸️ Outdoor rinks + where to find skating schedules
🧣 Winter City’s Stamp Rally (tiny adventure mode)
🎭 Last weekend for A Christmas Carol at Globe Theatre
📅 What to do this weekend + quick picks for next week
🧊 The Big Story
Winter City is fully in motion (and it’s mostly free)
If you’re looking for an easy “do something, but not too much” winter plan, Regina’s Winter City lineup has your back.
The headline: Winter City Stamp Rally
Running Dec 12, 2025 → Mar 15, 2026, the Stamp Rally is a simple city-wide challenge: visit winter spots around Regina, collect digital stamps, and rack up points (and maybe prizes).
How to use it without overthinking:
✅ Pick a “winter loop”: rink → warm drink → short walk
✅ Make it a friend challenge: most stamps by mid-January wins
✅ Use it as the “we have guests” plan (it’s visitor-friendly)
🏙️ City Updates
Snow routes are declared? Move the car and save $120
This is your annual reminder that Regina snow routes are not a suggestion.
When a snow route is declared, there’s a 24-hour no-parking window on the route. If you leave your vehicle there, the ticket is $120.
Check the snow routes map before the ban starts and decide your backup parking now. Future-you will thank you.
Outdoor rinks are open (and yes, you can skate for free)
Most outdoor rinks are open for the season, and the City posts rink locations and public skate schedules (including free times).
If you’re more of a “tell me exactly when and where” person, the public skate schedule is your best friend.
