The Riders Host the Argos Tonight in One of the Strangest, Most Fun Matchups of the Year
Here is a quirk you do not see every season. The Saskatchewan Roughriders are technically playing a road game tonight at Mosaic Stadium, because the visiting Toronto Argonauts are the official home team. With Toronto's BMO Field tied up hosting FIFA World Cup matches, the Argos had to move their home opener, and Regina drew the assignment. Kickoff is 7:00 PM at Mosaic Stadium, and Rider Nation gets to watch the champs defend their turf no matter whose name is on the schedule.
There is a fashion statement to go with it. The Roughriders are debuting their new all-white Prairie Blizzard uniforms tonight, and fans will even have the chance to take home game-worn jerseys after the final whistle. The reigning Grey Cup champions come in undefeated through two games, having edged the B.C. Lions and needed overtime to get past Calgary. Whatever the standings say about who is hosting, this one feels like a proper Friday night party on the prairies.

Meet David Bell, the Regina Pats' New Head Coach
The Regina Pats have a new bench boss, and he arrives with a few familiar local connections. David Bell was named the WHL club's new head coach this week, and longtime followers of the team will recognize some of the threads that tie him back to Regina and the western league.
For a young Pats squad that battled hard last season and made its return to the playoffs, a fresh voice behind the bench marks the start of an interesting new chapter. There is plenty of summer left before puck drop, but the building blocks for next season are quietly being put in place, and Pats fans now have a name to get to know.

Regina Rides the World Cup Wave as Canada Reaches the Knockout Stage
Soccer fever has taken hold across the Queen City. Canada has advanced to the knockout round of the FIFA World Cup for the first time ever, and Regina fans have been gathering to cheer every moment of the run. Even after a hard-fought loss to Switzerland, the mood around town has stayed celebratory, because simply reaching the round of 32 is uncharted territory for the national side.
For everyone watching closer to home, the local watch parties and packed living rooms have been a reminder of how good it feels when the whole country is pulling in the same direction. The next chapter of Canada's run is must-watch television.

A Neck Bone Eating Contest at a Regina Treaty Day Celebration Brings Full Bellies and Good Memories
Some of the best community moments are the ones built around a shared meal. At a recent Treaty Day celebration in Regina, a neck bone eating contest became an unexpected highlight, drawing competitors and laughter in equal measure. Jerome Moose, from Yellow Quill First Nation, took first place and walked away with a small trophy, though he was quick to point out that the real prize was leaving completely full and satisfied.
Events like this are a reminder of what makes Regina's cultural calendar special. Food, friendly competition, and the act of gathering together create memories that stick around long after the plates are cleared. It was a warm, joyful afternoon, and exactly the kind of community spirit worth celebrating.

The YQR Food Truck Wars returns to Victoria Park on Friday and Saturday, bringing together dozens of the province's best food trucks for two days of street food, music, and friendly competition. Admission is free, so you can wander the whole layout, sample widely, and cast your vote for the trucks that win you over.
